Which Course is the Mandatory Course?

The Mandatory course that everyone must take is the RECO Real Estate Update. It is worth 6 CEUs and is 6 hours in length. The cost is $75.00 and you must register through the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) regardless of which location you attend. The number to register is 1.888.333.5535 or fax 416.445.9213.  Every so often, OREA schedules a RECO Real Estate Update in BREB’s classroom. Click here for upcoming dates. I registered by fax/on-line or by mail. Do I get a Confirmation?

Once the Education Department receives a registration, with payment (Visa, Master Card, & American Express accepted), a spot is immediately reserved for that person. Who keeps track of all my credits?

You do! It is the responsibility of each individual to keep records of what he/she has attended; there is no central body, which archives this information. However, each Education Provider must keep records for 4 years so if you are in doubt as to what you’ve taken, contact the Education Provider who administered the course. A replacement charge for each receipt is $10.00 [plus G.S.T] for BREB Members and $15.00 [plus G.S.T] for Non-BREB Members.

What if I’m late to a BREB course?

A 10-minute late grace period is strictly enforced.  Latecomers will not be admitted into class. The RECO guidelines specify that in order to obtain the CEUs, the participant must be present for the full duration of the course – they must swipe in and swipe out. Registration will be available a half-hour prior to the beginning of the course.  Non Board Members will than collect their course receipt/credits.  BREB Members’ receipt/credits will be available on-line at My OREA Profile. BREB highly recommends you plan to arrive a half hour early in order to allow for emergencies, bad traffic or losing your way. We provide refreshments to enjoy while you await the start of the class. It’s a great opportunity to network with your colleagues!

What is BREB’s policy regarding refunds and credits?

BREB reserves the right to cancel a seminar if the minimum enrollment is not reached, in which case a full refund will be issued.  If a Member cancellation is received at the Board office later than 10:00 a.m., one week (7 days) prior to the scheduled class, NO REFUNDS/CREDIT, of any kind will be issued.  Admittance by pre-registrations only. No registrations will be accepted at the door – and remember, a 10 minute grace period is strictly enforced!
