AM Session #2:  (Earn 1 CEU) - "DO NOT CALL" List and how it will affect REALTORS®

The federal legislation creating the framework for Canada's National Do-Not-Call List was passed in 2005 and the list will be active on September 30, 2008.  Real estate brokers and salespersons, including REALTORS®, making unsolicited telephone calls are "telemarketers" within the meaning of the legislation.  This doesn't mean you cannot contact consumers in other legal ways, such as direct mail. It means if the consumer (including private sellers) puts their phone numbers on the National Do-Not-Call list, you cannot telephone or fax them to solicit business, unless the situation falls within an exception.  Come find out how the Do-Not-Call list will affect you as a REALTOR® and how you conduct business.
