Realtors
must comply with new privacy rules effective 2004. The federal government has enacted the Personal Information
Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) which establishes new rules
to recognize the privacy rights of individuals with respect to the
collection, use, disclosure and retention of their personal information
effective January 1, 2004. This
privacy compliance center provides guidance to assist Members/Public with
privacy compliance. BREB Members are
urged to seek legal advice on specific issues affecting them. |
