To Personal Information Holdings
All
BREB Members may request to inspect their personal information held by the
Board. The following procedure is to be followed:
1. Members must contact the Executive Director
regarding this request.
2. The Executive Director will schedule an
appointment during regular business hours within seven (7) days of the request.
3. The inspection will be made in the presence
of the Executive Director or person designated by the Executive Director, and
the following guidelines will be followed:

Members
may only inspect their own personal information
·
Members
may take notes on the contents of their personal information.
·
Members
may request the Executive Director to make copies of specific documents.
·
Members
must pay the cost of the copies.
·
Member
may not remove any of the contents of their file.
·
Members
must sign an “Inspection Statement” upon completion of their inspection
indicating the date and place of inspection.

Members
may submit written comments concerning any information deemed inappropriate by
the Member for insertion in the file.
·
In
the event the Executive Director determines that factually incorrect
information is in the file, the Executive Director shall correct the
information and make a notation I the file as to the date and nature of the correction.
4.
Except for reasonable cause, inspections are
limited to one per year.
5.
If
the specific information sought by Members is not maintained in the Board
files, the Executive Director will obtain a copy of the information requested.
The Executive Director will do the following:

Locate
the holder of information maintaining a file containing the record sought.
·
Inform
the holder that a request for inspection has been made to the Executive Director.
·
Request
that a copy of the information, in a form understandable to the Member, be
transferred to Executive Director to permit an inspection.
The
Executive Director will place the “Inspection Statement” in the Member’s file.
