Statement to be issued to
existing Members:
The Brampton Real Estate
Board uses the personal information provided verbally or in writing by Members
upon application for membership (and which may be provided during the course of
membership), for different purposes to fulfill its mandate. These purposes
include:
□ Acting as a trade association in support of
real estate brokers as Members within The Brampton Real Estate Board’s
jurisdictional area;
□ Providing services to Members;
□ Providing Continuing Education to Members and
educational;
□ Support in the operation of the MLS system;
□ Facilitating membership in the Ontario Real
Estate Association and the Canadian Real Estate Association;
□ Any legal or regulatory requirements; and
□ Such other purposes consistent with the
foregoing purposes.
The collection, use and
limited disclosure of any applicant's or Member's personal information will
only be for the purposes of fulfilling BREB's mandate, including the provision
of services, products, and information to members by BREB, or any organization
authorized by the BREB, and only in a manner consistent with this Statement and
the Board's Privacy Policy for Members, a copy of which has been provided or
otherwise made available to members.
When an individual applies
for membership in BREB or chooses to participate in the activities of BREB or
uses any service provided by BREB, that individual consents to the collection,
use and disclosure of personal information and set out in this Statement and
the Board's Privacy Policy for Members.
Subject to applicable laws and
with specific exceptions to protect the privacy of third parties, members may
access their personal information held by BREB and may submit comments on or
corrections to such information for inclusion with the personal information
held by BREB.
