Ted Arnott

I have enjoyed meeting realtors through the years that I have been privileged to serve in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario.

If re-elected on June 2nd, I would welcome the opportunity to meet with your representatives to learn more about your concerns with the Ontario Land Tribunal, how to protect a homeowner’s right to decide how to sell their home, and changes to the real estate buying process.

I agree that all orders of government need to work together on a strategy to increase the housing supply for people at all income levels. The recommendations of the Provincial Government’s Housing Affordability Task Force provide a basis for action. We need to continue to consult with realtors.

I would be very interested in learning more about the current Landlord and Tenant issues, from the perspective of realtors.

Without question, we need to look for ways to help first time home buyers to get into the market and realize their dream of home ownership. One way would be to temporarily suspend the land transfer tax for first time buyers until the market stabilizes.
